Department of History

Department of History was established in June 1973. The department is also known for great scholars and renowned faculties like Prof. Dongare, Prof. M. N. Mali, Dr. S. A. Patil and Prof. Prashant Y. Sardar. The department has two full- time faculties, Dr. Sharad Kautik Bhamare and Prof. Satilal Appa Kannor are working at present.

The Department of History organizes various activities and co-curricular activities for the development of the students and faculties through organizing National and International Seminars, Conferences and Workshops. Every year the department runs the certificate courses for the students especially it focuses on “Modi Script and Document” which will help to the students to know the Modi script. (Medieval Script)

The department organizes ‘Trek and Adventure Camp’ for the students every year. This activity encourages the students for the national integration, to save the forts and to create social harmony.

Our institution organizes three-day lecture series on the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj who was a dynamic King in Medieval India. The department plays a very important role for the planning of three day lecture series. This lecture series gives the proper insights to our students. As well as the department organizes Elocution Competition for the students on account of the same.

Simultaneously, the department throws light on the following disciplines which is related to History such as Inscriptional Science, Archeology, Modi Transliteration, Historical Tourism, Sculpture, Scriptology, Ethnology, Museum Curator, etc.

Through the above mentioned disciplines students attract to our subject and make their career.
