The Department of Mass Communication and Journalism was established in the academic year 2014-15 by the Shri Shivaji Vidya Prasarak Sanstha’s Bhausaheb N. S. Patil Arts and M. F. M. A. Commerce College, Dhule. This is the first Department in the Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University offering B.A.(MCJ). Objectives of department are to provide trained and skilled manpower to the media organisations. The Department creates job opportunities for the students.

In addition the Department concentrates not only on curricular syllabus but also on personality development and extracurricular activities of the students. The Department always tries to give ideal and practical knowledge to the students.

DEPARTMENTAL ACTIVITIES :

  • 6th January Celebrate as a Marathi Journalists’ Day in the memory of thespian Journalist Balshastri Jambhekar. He is also known as ‘The Father of Marathi Journalism’, on this day department conduct various programs every year.
  • Motivated to students take part in Speech Competition, Essay Competition, Debate Competition etc.
  • Opportunities to showcase the talents through exhibitions and other media events.
  • The Department published a periodic namely ‘LOKSANVAD’ from August 2015
  • Local and Outdoor visits to Media Houses
  • Weekly Guest Lectures
  • One of the striking activities of the Department is Study tour. It has been arranged with focusing the student’s practical knowledge.
